Google Faces Two Major Antitrust Trials
Google is currently involved in two separate antitrust trials initiated by the US Justice Department. The allegations claim that Google holds an illegal monopoly over the digital advertising market and online search. The ads trial began this month, while Google has already lost in the search case.

Sundar Pichai expressed, “We certainly disagree with the ruling, but we are still in the remedies phase. We will appeal, and this process is likely to span many years.” To illustrate the lengthy nature of appeals, he referenced Google’s recent victory in the European Union General Court against a €1.5 billion ($1.7 billion) antitrust fine. Which came over four years after the penalty was imposed. Additionally, Sundar Pichai unveiled a new $120 million ‘Global AI Opportunity Fund’ aimed at enhancing AI education and training worldwide, emphasizing local languages and collaboration with nonprofits and NGOs.
