A severe water crisis has hit three major South Delhi malls, shutting down around 70% of toilets and leaving restaurants struggling to maintain basic hygiene. Mall authorities said the Delhi Jal Board has not supplied water for several days, nearly emptying their storage tanks. As a result, many food outlets can’t wash dishes or serve drinking water, forcing them to scale down or suspend operations. A restaurant operator added that the lack of water has made cleaning and sanitation extremely difficult, making it almost impossible to serve customers properly.

Festive Sales at Risk as Water Crisis Deepens

Just weeks ahead of Diwali, three major South Delhi malls are facing a possible shutdown due to a worsening water crisis. Mall authorities have warned that if supply isn’t restored within two to three days, operations may be forced to halt threatening millions in business losses and putting thousands of jobs at stake. The timing has raised serious concerns among retailers, who were preparing for the festive season rush. “We were getting ready for Diwali shoppers, but now we’re struggling to manage even basic operations,” said a store manager.
