Nagpur Startup Fest 2019: India’s Biggest Entrepreneurial Showcase Returns to the City

On August 24, 2019, the city of Nagpur once again played host to the Nagpur Startup Fest, touted as the biggest startup event in India. Held at the Mankapur Stadium, this second edition of the festival was created with the goal of promoting and celebrating Nagpur’s thriving entrepreneurial spirit.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development (ICTRD), is hosting the Nagpur Startup Fest 2019. It is a mission and goal to create a budding entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nagpur and to foster the same spirit in the long run.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated NSF. Nagpur startup fest is my favorite event and it is a matter of appreciation to me that such a grand event should be organized by the people of my city. He also said on this occasion that youth should use innovation to solve problems by taking inspiration from socio-technical matters and research. He also congratulated Mayor Nanda Jichkar and the convenor of the event Ketan Mohitkar on this occasion.

Government, academics, students, investors, and startups come under the same roof to celebrate the success of the Nagpur startup ecosystem. This year under the Nagpur Startup Fest, around 50 startup investors, vice-chancellors, government officials, and the general public presented their startups and get funded. About 20k + youth participated in this program. Nearly 100+ domain experts participated in various discussion forums and talks. Stalls of all major government departments, Startups, and companies were the attraction of the event. The event provided an opportunity for startups and entrepreneurs to register their startups and get the chance to meet and get funded by investors and government officials.

Power Minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Minister of State Dr. Parinay Phuke, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, MP Vikas Mahatme, Innovation Director Mohit Gambhir, ICTRD’s Member Secretory Ketan Mohitkar, Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadiya, Chet Jain from Crowdera, Actor Sandip Kulkarni, Bharat Ganeshpure, Composar Sandip Nath, Flying Beast Gaurav Taneja, MLAs Sudhakar Deshmukh, Sudhakar Kohole, Girish Vyas, NMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Nodal Officer and Commissioner Aziz Shaikh, Director Mahametro Brijesh Dixit,  were among the guests for this event.
