Ramayana Trailer: Ranbir-Sai Pallavi Shine, Yash Steals the Show

The much-awaited Ramayana trailer introduces Ravana first, shifting attention from Rama toward Yash’s powerful portrayal. Nitesh Tiwari blends ancient mythology with modern imagination, creating a majestic, visually striking, unconventional vision.

The opening scene hides Ravana beneath a shawl before revealing his imposing presence gradually onscreen. Ravana boldly declares authority over heaven, earth, and hell, establishing his terrifying ambition immediately onscreen. Rama then enters the narrative, destined to protect humanity from Ravana’s growing atrocities and evil. The earlier teaser introduced Rama while offering shadowy glimpses of Sita and Ravana in detail. Now, the trailer reveals several important characters, expanding the film’s mythological world significantly for viewers. Lara Dutta portrays Kaikeyi, while Rakul Preet Singh plays the fierce Shurpanakha in the film.Vivek Oberoi appears as Vidyutjihva, Shurpanakha’s demon prince husband, adding another compelling character to proceedings. Sunny Deol remains absent from the trailer, despite portraying the beloved warrior Hanuman shown here.

Ramayana Promises Grand Visuals, Massive Scale and Global Ambition

The trailer promises enormous spectacle through ambitious CGI, VFX, elaborate designs, and breathtaking visuals throughout. Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation brings India’s timeless epic to audiences through a new generation today. Ranbir Kapoor portrays Rama, while Sai Pallavi brings Sita’s character to the screen with grace. Arun Govil, India’s iconic television Rama, returns as King Dasharatha, Rama’s father in the story. The makers reportedly invested Rs 4,000 crore to create Ramayana on an unprecedented scale globally.

Producer Namit Malhotra said both parts together could cost around $500 million globally in total. He described the project as ambitious, grounded, efficient, and designed for worldwide audiences across markets. Music legends AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer collaborate for the first time on Ramayana together. Rahman explained their challenge: honoring India’s iconic epic while creating something fresh for global audiences. Ramayana Part One will release worldwide in October 2026, ahead of Diwali celebrations globally soon.
