Saif Ali Khan Recovering After Successful Surgery to Remove Knife from Spine

Saif Ali Khan is now out of danger after undergoing surgery, with doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirming his stable condition. Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange stated, A knife positioned dangerously close to his thoracic spine was successfully removed during the procedure.

The actor sustained multiple injuries in an attack by an intruder at his Mumbai residence early Thursday morning. He suffered six stab wounds, including two deep cuts on his back one perilously near his spine and a minor neck injury.

Police Probe Domestic Help Link CCTV Footage Under Review

According to Mumbai police, initial investigations suggest that the attacker may be connected to one of the domestic helps who granted him access to the house. The domestic help is currently being questioned by the police. Although the accused was confined to a room, he managed to escape. At this stage, theft is believed to be the motive behind the attack.Along with local police, Mumbai Crime Branch has launched a probe into the case and CCTV footage is being examined.
The incident happened at around 2:30 am when Khan along with his wife other family members were asleep.

Doctors Provide Updates on Saif Ali Khan’s Surgery and Recovery

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer at Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that the surgeries were conducted with precision and Saif Ali Khan is now in a stable condition. “Despite the depth of the injuries, our medical team managed them effectively. Khan remains in the ICU but is showing steady progress. We expect to move him to the general ward within a day or two,” he said.

Dr. Nitin Dange, the neurosurgeon who led the complex spinal surgery, detailed the challenges of the procedure. “The knife, embedded in the thoracic spine, caused significant injury, including a spinal fluid leak. We successfully removed the object and repaired the damage to prevent further complications. It was a delicate operation requiring close coordination from our team.

Plastic and Cardiology Teams Ensure Saif Ali Khan’s Safe Recovery

In addition to the spinal surgery, the plastic surgery team, led by Dr. Leena Jain, addressed deep wounds on Saif Ali Khan’s left hand and the right side of his neck. These injuries, caused by sharp objects, required meticulous stitching and tissue repair. “Our focus was on ensuring proper healing while minimizing the risk of scarring,” Dr. Jain stated.

During the procedures, Dr. Srinivas Kudwa, a cardiologist, closely monitored Khan to ensure stability under anesthesia. “The success of these surgeries was due to the seamless coordination between departments. We’re happy to report that he is now out of danger.

Domestic Help Identified as First Victim Questioned by Police

A Bandra police officer said the domestic help Eliyama Phillipes alias Lima, was the first one to spot the robber at around 2 am. She screamed and alerted Khan’s family members. Khan then woke up and had scuffle with the robber who attacked him with a sharp object, preliminary probe has revealed.

The domestic help Lima has been brought to the Bandra police station for questioning. She has sustained injuries on her right wrist. She was the one who was attacked first by the intruder.
