According to medical reports, veteran actor and film director Manoj Kumar passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai due to cardiogenic shock caused by an acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a severe heart attack. As reported by news agency ANI on Friday morning, he died at 4:03 am at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

Manoj Kumar’s Last Rites on Saturday; Health Had Been Declining
His mortal remains will rest at his Juhu residence from Friday afternoon, allowing industry colleagues and fans to pay their final respects. The family is likely to hold the cremation on Saturday. Medical reports, as cited by ANI, state that he died of cardiogenic shock caused by acute myocardial infarction, a severe heart attack. The reports also confirm that Manoj had battled decompensated liver cirrhosis in recent months, which worsened his health.
‘Bharat Kumar’ Manoj Kumar Passes Away at 87
Manoj Kumar was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025, after his condition worsened. Renowned for his patriotic films, he earned the nickname ‘Bharat Kumar’. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit told ANI, “I’m sad to inform you all that the legendary Dadasaheb Phalke award winner, our inspiration, and the ‘lion’ of the Indian film industry, Manoj Kumar Ji, is no more.”
