Ekta Kapoor to Ram Kapoor on ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ remarks: “Keep Quiet”

Ekta Kapoor recently addressed misinformation about her shows on her Instagram stories. Without naming anyone, the TV producer criticized ‘unprofessional actors’ for sharing ‘twisted narratives’ and urged them to ‘stay silent’ and uphold dignity.

“Actors spreading false information about my shows should keep quiet! Misleading narratives only last until I decide to speak… but there’s dignity in staying silent,” she wrote.

Ekta Kapoor’s Decision to Move Forward

Interestingly, this statement comes a day after Ram Kapoor shared his thoughts on the iconic show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, produced by Ekta Kapoor. Ram reflected on his on-screen kiss with Sakshi Tanwar, recalling the significant backlash it received from viewers. He revealed that despite his reservations, Ekta chose to proceed with the bold scene.

“My job as an actor is to do my work; I don’t owe anyone an explanation,” Ram told Siddharth Kannan. “My responsibility is to follow the script. Who am I to say I won’t do something? If I do that, I’m not an actor. So, I did nothing wrong.”

“Ekta wrote the scene and insisted we do it,” Ram said. “I asked her, ‘Are you sure? This has never been done on television before—it’s the first on-screen kiss, which is a big deal. Plus, three generations watch the show together.’ But Ekta was confident it needed to happen. So, I agreed but told her I’d first get my wife’s approval. Then, I spoke to Sakshi and said, ‘If you’re uncomfortable, let me know—I’ll handle Ekta.’”

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain premiered in 2011, featuring Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar as Ram and Priya. Their on-screen chemistry was highly appreciated, making the show a massive hit. In its second season, Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar took over the lead roles.
