Deepika Padukone revealed she wasn’t exclusive with Ranveer Singh when they began dating, mentioning involvement with other men. Congress Leader Supriya Shrinate has hit out at social media users for trolling actor Deepika Padukone over her remarks on open-relationship.
Deepika Padukone and her spouse Ranveer Singh appeared in the first episode of Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 8, discussing their relationship and the time when Deepika battled anxiety and depression.
Deepika admitted she wasn’t exclusive with Ranveer when they began dating and was seeing other men simultaneously.
“I desired some time being unattached after challenging past relationships. I openly stated, ‘I don’t want commitment.’ I had fun. Then he arrived, and I didn’t commit until he proposed. There wasn’t a formal commitment. Even if we could have seen others, we gravitated back to each other,” Ms. Padukone expressed.
Since then, Deepika has been facing a barrage of trolling.

Calling Deepika a “super achiever”, Supriya Shrinate praised the actor for talking about her struggle with mental health. “A young woman, who is a super achiever talks about her struggles with mental health. She actually emboldens many more to deal with this unspoken demon. A young man, no mean achiever either, talks about how he stood by her when she went through the trauma,” she said on X – formerly known as Twitter.
She criticized the online harassers for tarnishing the actor’s reputation, highlighting that instead of commending their openness about societal issues, especially women, they face cruel trolling, character attacks, and offensive memes.
Congress Leader Ms. Shrinate argued, “Why do people struggle with reality, and why do raw human emotions unsettle them? Why must everything undergo sugarcoating, and why have people turned so bitter, filled with hatred, inhumanity, and judgment?”
