Bhumi Pednekar celebrated Republic Day 2026 at the Assam Regimental Centre, marking the occasion with a powerful blend of patriotism, emotion and personal pride. The actor chose to spend the day among members of the armed forces, making the celebration both meaningful and memorable.
During her visit, Bhumi interacted with officers and jawans who are currently undergoing training at the centre. She took time to understand their routine, dedication and commitment, expressing deep admiration for their service to the nation.
Bhumi Pednekar Embraces Northeast Heritage With Elegant Outfit
The actor also embraced the cultural heritage of Northeast India through her outfit for the occasion. She wore a black high-neck top paired with a structured grey blazer featuring notch lapels, full sleeves and side pockets, keeping the look elegant and formal.
Bhumi elevated the ensemble with a traditional red silk Assamese wrap skirt. The skirt featured delicate golden handwoven embroidery, adding a graceful regional touch and reflecting respect for local traditions.

Wearing Mother’s NCC Medals, Bhumi Pays Heartfelt Tribute
What truly stood out during the celebrations was the deeply personal tribute she carried with her. Bhumi wore her mother’s medals, which were earned during her time with the National Cadet Corps, turning her appearance into a heartfelt homage.
The gesture symbolised not only her pride in her mother’s achievements but also the spirit of Republic Day. By wearing the medals, Bhumi honoured the values of discipline, service and patriotism associated with the NCC.
Sharing the experience with her followers, Bhumi posted a carousel of pictures from the visit on Instagram on January 27. The images captured moments from her time at the regimental centre and her interactions with the armed forces.
Along with the photos, Bhumi wrote an emotional note, calling her mother a hero and expressing pride in wearing her NCC medals. She also spoke about spending three days at the Assam Regimental Centre in Meghalaya, where Agniveers are trained, and saluted the courage, dedication and service of officers, jawans and all members of the armed forces.
