Saif Ali Khan and his family experienced a night of horror when an intruder broke into their Bandra residence in the early hours of January 16. The attacker stabbed Saif multiple times before escaping. Despite suffering six stab wounds, including two dangerously close to his spine, the actor managed to reach Lilavati Hospital with his elder son, Taimur Ali Khan, whom he shares with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Recalling the traumatic incident in a conversation with Delhi Times, Saif revealed that a shaken Taimur asked him a heartbreaking question on the way—whether he was going to die.
Saif Ali Khan Recalls a Film-Like Chaos: Blood, Swords, and Panic
Recalling the moments after the attack, Saif shared how the intruder managed to escape and how the family reacted in panic. He explained, “He fled the same way he entered—though we weren’t aware of it at the time. He climbed up a drainpipe into the kids’ bathroom and seemed disoriented, not knowing where he was. Meanwhile, we all rushed downstairs. It was like a scene from a film—I was covered in blood, and we grabbed two decorative swords from the wall. That’s what Taimur saw—me bleeding and Hari, our house help, holding two swords. In that moment, it almost felt vaguely heroic,” he added with a laugh.

As chaos unfolded, Kareena Kapoor Khan took charge, ensuring both Saif’s medical attention and their children’s safety. Recalling the moment, Saif shared, “We initially thought, ‘Let’s catch him.’ But Kareena insisted, ‘No, we need to leave! You have to get to a hospital, and I need to get Jeh out of here—I feel the intruder might still be around, and there could be more.’ So, we all rushed downstairs. Kareena was desperately calling for a rickshaw, a cab, anything. Meanwhile, I started feeling a sharp pain in my back and knew something was wrong. She told me to head to the hospital while she took Jeh to her sister’s house. She kept making frantic calls, but no one was awake.”
However, the moment that left the deepest impact on Saif was reassuring Taimur amid the chaos. He recalled, “We looked at each other, and I told him, ‘I’m fine. I’m not going to die.’ Taimur, visibly shaken, asked me, ‘Are you going to die?’ I firmly replied, ‘No.’”
