PM Modi Shares Mantra for Political Success Focus on Mission Not Ambition

In a podcast with Zerodha founder Nikhil Kamath, PM Modi highlighted the key qualities required for Political success, stressing the importance of effective communication, dedication, and staying in touch with the people. He stated that politicians with a mission will thrive, while those driven by personal ambition will ultimately fail in politics.

PM Modi on Political Success: Dedication, Teamwork, and People Connection

In response to Kamath’s question about the skills needed to enter politics, PM Modi said, “While entering politics may be simple, attaining success is a completely different challenge.Success in politics demands extreme dedication, a constant connection with the people in their good and bad times, and the ability to work as a team player. 

In his podcast debut, PM Modi remarked, “If someone thinks everyone will listen to them or adopt their approach, they are wrong. While they may win a few elections, it doesn’t guarantee they will become a successful leader.”

PM Modi Highlights Unity and Leadership During India’s Freedom Struggle

During India’s struggle for independence, people from diverse backgrounds participated, contributing in various ways. Some educated the masses, others engaged in making Khadi, and many worked on tribal upliftment, among other roles. Yet, all of them were united by a common spirit of patriotism, PM Modi pointed out.

Take Mahatma Gandhi, for example. He may not have been a great orator, but his personality and connection with the people brought the nation together. Gandhi never wore a cap himself, but the world remembers the ‘Gandhi topi’. That’s the power of true communication and leadership.

PM Modi Stresses Need for Selfless Young Politicians and Long-term National Focus

According to the Prime Minister, “professional politicians” with polished speeches might remain relevant for a short time, but they will not last long.

When asked about young people joining politics, he said, “India requires one lakh dedicated young politicians, driven by a selfless desire to serve the nation”.

“Politics should not be about lena, pana, banana (taking, gaining, and making). Such an approach will not sustain in the long run,” he further said.

When asked to compare entrepreneurship with politics, PM Modi explained that while entrepreneurs work for the growth and success of their company, politics is fundamentally about putting the nation first
