Mumbai BMW Crash: Shinde Sena Leader Appears in Court Today

Rajesh Shah, deputy leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Sena. In Maharashtra’s Palghar district, and his driver Rajrushi Bidavat are set to appear in court today. Rajesh Shah, Mihir’s father and deputy leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Sena. in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, and his driver Rajrushi Bidavat were arrested last evening and will be produced in court today. Rajesh Shah was taken into custody for not cooperating with the police investigation.

Investigation Reveals Details of the Mumbai BMW Crash

The investigation so far has revealed that Mihir Shah drank at a bar in Juhu late Saturday night, and his driver picked him up in a high-end BMW car. At Worli, Mihir insisted on driving and took the wheel. The Nakhawas, residents of Koliwada who sold fish for a living, were returning from Sassoon Dock when the BMW crashed into their scooter. Kaveri Nakhawa was run over and dragged by the fleeing BMW. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Mihir Shah reportedly called his father to inform him about the accident and has since turned off his phone. A case has been registered under the new criminal code Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash driving, and destruction of evidence. Provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act have also been applied.
