TVK chief Vijay condemned an attack on party workers in Chennai, calling it an assault on democracy and political freedom.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, He alleged that over 100 miscreants, reportedly linked to the ruling party, attacked TVK volunteers who were carrying out a public outreach and survey programme.

Vijay alleges attack on TVK workers, several injured.
The incident injured several party workers, including two administrators. Doctors admitted one, a four-month-pregnant woman, to the emergency ward for critical care, while they are treating four others.
Calling the incident “lawless violence,” Vijay accused political opponents of trying to suppress his party’s growing public support. He termed the attack an attempt to intimidate party members and curb democratic participation.
Vijay also warned that the people of Tamil Nadu would respond strongly to such actions in the forthcoming state assembly elections.
