Uttarakhand: 1 dead, several missing after 18-seater bus falls into Alaknanda river

The Uttarakhand police reported that the tragic accident occurred when the bus lost control and plunged into the river near the Gholtir region in Rudraprayag district. A tempo traveller fell into the Alaknanda River on Thursday, killing at least one person. Initial reports indicate that the accident injured around seven people, and several others remain missing.

One Dead, Seven Injured as 18-Seater Falls Into Alaknanda River in Rudraprayag; Rescue Ops in Full Swing

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told news agency ANI that an 18-seater vehicle fell into the Alaknanda River in Gholthir, Rudraprayag district, killing one person and injuring seven others. He said that teams from the SDRF, police, and administration have reached the spot and are carrying out rescue operations. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other agencies are conducting relief and rescue efforts on a war footing. He assured the public that he remains in constant contact with the local administration to closely monitor the situation.

Tempo Traveller Accident in Rudraprayag: Rescue Efforts Underway After Vehicle Falls Into River

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called the incident of a tempo traveller falling into a river in Rudraprayag district deeply tragic. He said that SDRF and other rescue teams are conducting relief and rescue operations on a war footing. He added that he remains in constant contact with the local administration and is praying for everyone’s safety. IG Nilesh Anand Bharane of the Uttarakhand police stated that the vehicle went out of control and plunged into the river near the Gholthir area of Rudraprayag district. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police, and district administration have already reached the site and started rescue operations.
