An initial investigation revealed that five 18-year-old occupants were in the car when it crash. The deceased have been identified as Aryan Joshi, a senior at Alpharetta High School, and Sriya Avasarala and Anvi Sharma, both freshmen at the University of Georgia. Authorities confirmed that a fatal car crash in Alpharetta, Georgia, killed at least three Indian-origin students and injured two others. Alpharetta Police reported that the single-vehicle crash occurred on Westside Parkway, with five 18-year-olds in the car.

Speed likely a factor in fatal georgia
The ongoing investigation has initially suggested that speeding may have contributed to the crash. Alpharetta Police temporarily closed Westside Parkway from Maxwell Road to Hembree Road during the investigation. According to a report by 11Alive, Anvi Sharma and Sriya Avasarala had just completed their freshman year at the University of Georgia. Sharma’s family stated that she was buried on Wednesday.

Teenagers Account for significant portion of crash deaths
The deceased women, identified as Rekhaben Patel, Sangitaben Patel, and Manishaben Patel, all hailed from Anand district in Gujarat. Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis reported that the vehicle was found in pieces after the crash. “It is obvious they were traveling above the posted speed limit,” he told news outlet WSPA.
