A woman in Turkey suffered permanent hearing loss when a Samsung Galaxy Buds FE earbud Explosion during use. Her boyfriend, who had recently purchased the earbuds for his Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, shared the incident on Samsung’s Turkish community forum.
The post mentioned the earbuds were new, with 36% battery and uncharged. The boyfriend’s excitement turned to horror when his girlfriend borrowed them and one exploded in her ear, causing permanent hearing damage.

Samsung Galaxy History with Product Explosions
The user visited a Samsung service center in Cemalpasa, Adana, with damaged earbuds. The staff was initially apologetic but later claimed the earbuds had “deformed” rather than exploded after a two-day review.
Despite the user’s claims of an explosion, the service center offered only a replacement of the same model, describing it as a “take it or leave it” option, with legal action available if he was unsatisfied.
This isn’t Samsung’s first issue with malfunctions causing injuries. In 2016, the company recalled millions of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones due to overheating battery explosions, which led to fires and injuries.
Additionally, between 2015 and 2016, Samsung’s washing machines faced scrutiny due to reports of top-loading models exploding from excessive vibration caused by a design flaw. The company issued a recall to address these safety concerns.
In response to growing criticism and potential user risks, Samsung issued a recall to tackle these issues, focusing on the safety and reliability of their products. The company also implemented design improvements to prevent similar incidents in the future, demonstrating their commitment to customer safety.
