Mumbai Horror: Man Pushes Wife Before Train After Fight

A disturbing incident has emerged from Mumbai, where a 42-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife by pushing her in front of an oncoming local train after a domestic dispute.

Mumbai Accused Arrested in Surat, Confesses to Disputes

Following the incident, the accused fled the spot but was later arrested in Surat by the Railway Police STF. According to officials, he initially escaped towards Thane, boarded a fast local train to CSMT, then travelled to Dadar, and later took another train to Virar. Police investigations revealed that he subsequently boarded a Gujarat-bound train from Virar Railway Station. Acting on this information, a team rushed to Surat and successfully apprehended him. During questioning, the accused, identified as Rajkumar Gupta, an electrician, confessed that he often had frequent arguments with his wife, Pushpa Gupta (36), over domestic issues.

Dispute Turns Fatal: Wife Pushed Before Train at Mulund Station

The accused later confessed that after one such argument, he pushed his wife in front of an incoming local train at Platform No. 1 of Mulund Railway Station on the morning of March 14. According to the victim’s brother, Kamlesh Kumar Gupta (30), an Army personnel, the couple had a history of frequent disputes. He had recently arrived in Mumbai to take his sister and her 15-year-old son back to their native village in Uttar Pradesh. On March 14, following another altercation, Pushpa had approached the police. Later, she, along with Kamlesh and her son, reached Mulund Railway Station. However, Kamlesh realised he had left his Army ID card at home. When he and his nephew returned to retrieve it, the accused allegedly locked them inside the house in anger.

As per the FIR, Rajkumar then went to Mulund station, where Pushpa was waiting on Platform No. 1, and allegedly pushed her in front of a moving train before fleeing. Commuters quickly informed the Station Master, and railway staff rushed her to a nearby government hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Meanwhile, Kamlesh managed to escape with the help of neighbours.Police officials confirmed that CCTV cameras installed at the station captured the entire incident. Based on a complaint filed with the Kurla Government Railway Police (GRP), authorities have registered a case against the accused under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Further investigation is currently underway.
