Teen Threatens Suicide From Maharashtra Hill, Parents Die While Trying To Save Him

An 18-year-old teenager and his parents died in a tragic incident at Khavda Hill in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Friday. The teenager reportedly stood near the edge of the hill and threatened to end his life. His family members, police officials, villagers and tourists spent nearly three hours trying to convince him to step back. Despite repeated appeals, the teenager refused to move away from the dangerous spot. The incident ended in tragedy when the family members fell from the hill.

Three-Hour Effort To Save Teen Fails

The teenager reportedly reached the edge of Khavda Hill around 10 am and remained there for several hours. His mother and other family members repeatedly pleaded with him to move to safety. Police, villagers and tourists also joined the effort to persuade him. Eyewitnesses said the family made several attempts to calm the teenager and prevent him from taking the extreme step. However, he continued to remain close to the edge despite their efforts.

During the final 15 to 20 minutes of the incident, the teenager’s father climbed towards him and attempted to bring him back to safety. At around 1 pm, the father reportedly reached out to grab his son. However, both lost their balance and slipped down the hill. The tragic situation became even worse when the teenager’s mother subsequently jumped from the cliff. The incident resulted in the deaths of all three family members.

Father Tries To Pull Son Back

Police have started investigating the circumstances that led to the tragedy. Officials are gathering information from people who witnessed the incident and examining the events that took place at the hill. The teenager reportedly lived in the Devlai area. Videos recorded by tourists and locals captured parts of the incident, including the family’s attempts to persuade the teenager.

The tragic incident has also raised concerns about safety measures at Khavda Hill. The location has steep and potentially dangerous edges, creating serious risks for visitors. Authorities are expected to examine whether additional safety arrangements are required at the site. The investigation will also focus on the circumstances that led the teenager to threaten suicide and the subsequent attempts by his parents to save him.
