Kanpur Trader Killed After Confronting Men Over Public Urination

A trader in Kanpur died two days after four men allegedly assaulted him on a road. The incident took place after Amit Gupta objected to the men urinating outside a market and near residential houses. Gupta, an automobile trader, was standing outside the market when he noticed the men, who were reportedly intoxicated. He asked them to stop, saying that houses stood opposite the spot. The men allegedly became angry over his objection and attacked him. They knocked Gupta to the ground and repeatedly beat him. The assault caused a serious head injury and left him unconscious. The attackers then fled from the spot. Gupta’s family members learned about the incident and rushed him to a hospital. Doctors provided treatment, but his condition remained critical.
