Jharkhand Couple Killed in Air Ambulance Crash

A tragic air ambulance crash in Jharkhand claimed seven lives shortly after takeoff from Ranchi. The victims included a 41-year-old burn patient, his wife and another relative. The family had borrowed nearly ₹8 lakh to arrange the emergency flight. They collected money from friends, relatives and well-wishers for treatment and transport. Sanjay Kumar suffered severe burns after an electrical short circuit caused a fire at his hotel. He worked at a modest establishment in Chandwa and supported his entire family. Doctors treated him locally, but his condition continued to worsen. Therefore, the family decided to move him to a Delhi hospital for advanced treatment. They planned to admit him to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

Seven people die after aircraft crashes soon after takeoff from jharkhand

His wife Archana Devi and relative Dhruv Kumar accompanied him on the aircraft. The air ambulance departed from Ranchi with medical staff and flight crew onboard. However, the aircraft crashed in Chatra district soon after takeoff. Sadly, none of the seven occupants survived the accident. The Beechcraft C90 aircraft belonged to a Delhi-based charter service, Redbird Airways. Two pilots, a doctor and a paramedic also died in the crash. Authorities identified the pilot as Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat. Officials named Captain Savrajdeep Singh as the co-pilot. The medical team included Dr Vikas Kumar Gupta and paramedic Sachin Kumar Mishra.

Family members gathered at the victim’s home in Latehar after the news spread. Relatives expressed shock and grief over the sudden tragedy. The family had even considered selling property to fund treatment. Eventually, they chose loans and borrowed money to save his life. Sanjay served as the sole breadwinner for the household. He sustained burns while attempting to manage the fire at his workplace.
Doctors recommended immediate transfer because local treatment options were exhausted.
Consequently, the family arranged the costly air ambulance service. Investigators are examining the cause of the crash. Officials will analyse technical and weather conditions carefully. Meanwhile, the grieving family now faces both emotional and financial loss.
