An air ambulance crash in Jharkhand killed all seven people on board, officials confirmed. The Beechcraft C90 aircraft went down during a thunderstorm in Chatra district. Authorities recovered all the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. The victims included two pilots, two medical staff, a patient, and his relatives.
The aircraft, operated by Redbird Airways, had taken off from Ranchi. During the flight, the crew requested a change in route due to bad weather. Soon after, the plane lost radar contact and communication. Officials later confirmed the crash.
Deputy Commissioner Keerthishree G said rescue teams retrieved the bodies from the crash site. The accident occurred amid severe weather conditions. Authorities have launched a detailed probe into the incident. Investigators will examine weather patterns and technical aspects.

India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has sent a team to determine the cause of the crash. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation> is also monitoring the investigation. Officials stated that the pilots were experienced and qualified. The airline’s safety chief said agencies are thoroughly reviewing the case.
The patient, identified as Sanjay Kumar, had suffered burn injuries and was undergoing treatment in Ranchi. His family arranged an air transfer to Delhi after his condition worsened. His brother said they hoped for better medical care in the capital. Tragically, the aircraft crashed before reaching its destination.
Following recent aviation incidents, the aviation regulator announced stricter safety measures for non-scheduled operators. The new rules mandate public disclosure of safety records and increased audits of cockpit voice recorders. Authorities will also impose stricter penalties for violations and enhance oversight of maintenance and weather-related decisions.
In a separate incident near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a helicopter operated by Pawan Hans made an emergency sea landing. Rescue teams safely evacuated all seven people on board. Last month, a Learjet 45 crash also killed five people, including the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra.
