A 17-year-old boy allegedly lost control of a Baleno in Borabanda on Sunday early morning. The speeding car crashed into seven parked motorcycles and scooters near Ellar Kishore High School.
The vehicle then struck a motorcycle carrying brothers Raj Kumar and Prabhakar toward church there. Police said the impact seriously injured both brothers and damaged several vehicles nearby that morning. Raj Kumar, 60, suffered grave injuries and received treatment at Max Aid Hospital after crashing. Prabhakar, 55, also sustained serious injuries and doctors admitted him to Star Hospital for treatment. According to preliminary information, the brothers travelled toward church when the speeding car struck them. The younger brother reportedly jumped from the motorcycle, while the older rider suffered severe injuries.

Police Probe How Minor Accessed Rented Car, Examine Possible Negligence
Local residents immediately rushed both injured men to nearby hospitals after witnessing the collision unfold. Police said the teenager lives in Borabanda and reportedly had no previous driving experience there. Investigators learned that one of his friends had recently rented the Baleno before the crash. After cleaning the vehicle, the friend allegedly left it unattended with the car keys inside. Police suspect the teenager took the keys and drove away despite lacking a valid licence.
During the drive, he allegedly lost control near Ellar Kishore High School and caused chaos. The car first ploughed through parked two-wheelers before forcefully hitting the brothers’ motorcycle directly nearby. The collision damaged seven parked vehicles and left the motorcycle riders seriously injured, police said. Residents gathered quickly, alerted emergency services, and helped authorities manage the chaotic accident scene quickly. Police arrived, examined the location, and moved damaged vehicles away to restore normal traffic flow. Madhura Nagar Police registered a case and began investigating how the minor accessed the car. Officials will examine possible negligence involving the vehicle owner, renter, and circumstances surrounding access today.
