A tragic road accident on the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram claimed the lives of two young friends and left a woman seriously injured. The crash occurred when a truck allegedly changed lanes abruptly and applied sudden brakes, forcing the car behind it to collide with the heavy vehicle. The impact completely crushed the car, leaving all three occupants with severe injuries. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are searching for the truck driver, who fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Friends Were Returning to Delhi After Watching FIFA Final
According to police, the victims had travelled to a club on Sohna Road in Gurugram to watch the FIFA World Cup final on a big screen. Deepak Malik, Saksham Sachdeva, and Pragati Vashisht began their return journey to Delhi early Monday morning. While driving along the Dwarka Expressway near Pareena Tower, their car encountered a speeding truck. The truck allegedly switched lanes without warning and braked suddenly, leaving the driver with no time to avoid the collision.
The collision severely damaged the car and trapped all three occupants inside. Nearby residents rushed to the spot and helped shift them to Venkateshwar Hospital in Dwarka. Doctors declared Deepak Malik and Saksham Sachdeva dead on arrival because of their critical injuries. Pragati Vashisht survived the accident but remains under medical treatment. Family members said Deepak was a third-year B.Tech Computer Science student, while Saksham and Pragati worked in the event management industry.

Police Register Case Against Absconding Truck Driver
The Sector 93 police station registered a case against the unidentified truck driver for alleged reckless driving. Officials stated that the driver escaped with the truck immediately after the accident. Investigators have started examining CCTV footage collected from nearby locations to identify the vehicle. Police believe they will trace the truck soon and take legal action against the driver responsible for the fatal crash.
Police completed the post-mortem examinations and handed over the bodies of both victims to their families. Investigators continue gathering evidence to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the collision. The incident has once again raised concerns about dangerous driving practices, including sudden lane changes and abrupt braking on busy expressways. Authorities have urged motorists to follow traffic rules carefully to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
