Delhi: Schoolgirl Dies After DTC Bus Hits Scooter in Mayur Vihar Phase-3; Angry Crowd Vandalises Bus

A minor schoolgirl died after a DTC bus hit the scooter she was travelling on with her father in Mayur Vihar Phase-3, Delhi. The accident took place around 8:30 am in the Dallupura area as the girl, identified as Kaina, travelled towards East Point School. The collision triggered anger among local residents at the scene. Following the incident, an angry crowd vandalised the DTC bus. Police launched a search for the driver after he fled the spot.

Police Investigate Fatal Collision

Police teams reached the location and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officers are searching for the absconding driver and examining CCTV footage from cameras installed near the accident site. Authorities are also collecting information from eyewitnesses to determine how the collision occurred. The incident caused considerable disruption and tension in the area. Police have continued their investigation to establish responsibility for the accident.

In another Delhi accident, a 12-year-old schoolgirl named Priyanshi died after a school bus collided with the e-rickshaw she was travelling in near Majlis Park Metro station. The collision threw her onto the road, where the bus ran over her. Doctors at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital declared her dead after police brought her there. Priyanshi lived in Rama Garden, Mukundpur, and studied in Class 6.

Teenager Dies After DTC Bus Hits Bicycle

A separate accident in Dwarka claimed the life of 17-year-old Isha, who was cycling near the Dabri powerhouse. Police said a DTC bus hit her bicycle from behind and trapped the cycle under its front-right wheel. The bus dragged the teenager several metres before stopping. Isha, a resident of Mahavir Enclave in Dabri, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. During questioning, the driver reportedly told police that he had lost control of the vehicle.

The three separate incidents involving schoolgirls have raised concerns over road safety and bus operations in Delhi. Police are investigating each accident individually and gathering evidence to determine the exact circumstances. Authorities are also examining CCTV footage and statements from witnesses. The Mayur Vihar incident further escalated after residents vandalised the bus involved in the crash. Police are continuing efforts to trace the drivers and complete their investigations.
