4 Tourists Die In Helicopter Crash Near Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand

Four tourists died in a helicopter crash near Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, on Thursday morning. Six people were onboard the helicopter during the crash. Four people reportedly died in the incident, while two others were injured.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the news on social media and expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families. He wrote, “May God grant peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families in this difficult time.”

Mr. Dhami stated he has directed officials to ensure all possible help and support for the injured victims immediately. He also emphasized the importance of conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. “I am in constant contact with senior officials and monitoring every situation closely,” he said during the media briefing. The Chief Minister further assured that no negligence would be tolerated and appropriate action would follow the inquiry findings.

The helicopter, full of passengers, was flying from Dehradun to Harsil helipad. From there, the tourists were to cover a distance of around 30km, to Gangnani, by road.

SDRF and district teams quickly reached the crash site to begin rescue and relief operations. The rescue operation is ongoing with full efforts from local authorities.

Uttarkashi District Magistrate has departed for the accident site to oversee the situation. Officials have confirmed that the cause of the helicopter crash is currently under investigation.
